What We Do
MAXIN offers client‐centred, evidence‐based, collaborative, and holistic occupational therapy services. Our practice is grounded in real‐world function, risk, and participation, providing care that is practical, meaningful, and responsive to change.
We specialise in supporting participants whose circumstances include neurological and degenerative conditions, palliative and end‐of-life trajectories, and justice involvement.
Our role is primarily to help participants improve daily-life engagement.
However, our services are not limited to participant-facing engagements. They may include providing support to the family and team, and collaborating with mainstream service providers, such as GPs, specialists and legal supports.
Our approach is responsive to what is needed at the time, adapting as circumstances change. We grow and learn with you, keeping our skills focused on the complex presentations we support.
By paying close attention to the participant’s true goals, our ultimate aim is to make everyday life easier, safer, and more achievable.
Who we work with
We support people whose circumstances include:
- Neurological conditions: Acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinsonism.
- Progressive and degenerative conditions: Where function, fatigue, behaviour, and support needs change over time.
- Palliative and end‐of-life contexts: Where comfort, dignity, safety, and carer sustainability must be considered together.
- Justice‐involved presentations: Where disability, behaviour, risk, and service systems intersect.
MAXIN primarily supports adults, but we accept referrals for children and young people with
neurological or progressive conditions where our specialist focus is appropriate.
We work with NDIS participants who are Plan‐Managed and have Support Coordination in place.
